Set in a Neo-Renaissance palazzo beside Termini station, Palazzo Massimo is one of four sites of Italy's National Roman Museum and holds one of the world's greatest collections of classical art. Highlights include the Hellenistic bronze Boxer at Rest, the Augustus of Via Labicana shown as high priest, and the breathtaking garden frescoes from the Villa of Livia. Its four floors range from imperial portraits and Greek-inspired sculpture to mosaics and frescoes, with a vast coin and jewellery collection in the basement.
