The Fujita Museum in Miyakojima-ku holds the collection of the Fujita family, with paintings, calligraphy, lacquerware, ceramics, tea utensils and Noh masks and robes. Exhibitions rotate through the seasons, with English captions. A free audio guide runs on visitors' own smartphones, and curators give gallery talks.
Paintings and crafts drawn from stories, including a Genji picture album, Korin's cherry-blossom writing box and the Saigyo album.
Noh masks, robes and related paintings and lacquerware, shown with the Shukugawa Noh stage Kawarashoen to explain Noh.
Fujita curators pick the works they most covet, among them Kano Sansetsu's Landscape in Summer and Winter, a Fierce Old Tiger and Ninsei incense containers.
