Hauser & Wirth is one of the world's leading contemporary and modern art galleries, founded in Zurich in 1992 by Iwan Wirth, Manuela Wirth and Ursula Hauser. Its flagship New York space at 542 West 22nd Street is a purpose-built building designed by Annabelle Selldorf and opened in 2020, offering some 36,000 square feet of column-free galleries behind a grey concrete-and-zinc facade with folding glass doors that open onto the street. Representing over 90 artists and estates, the gallery mounts ambitious, museum-quality exhibitions that are free to visit. It also runs additional Manhattan spaces on Wooster Street in SoHo and a dedicated editions space on 18th Street.
