Opened in November 2008 in UNAM's Centro Cultural Universitario, MUAC was Mexico's first public museum devoted entirely to contemporary art. Its angular building by Teodoro González de León houses rotating exhibitions of Mexican and international artists, a sound-art space (Espacio de Experimentación Sonora) and a collection of art, design and documents tracing Mexican art from 1952 to the present.
