Founded in 1996 by Dr. Robert Gumbiner in downtown Long Beach, MOLAA is the only museum in the United States focused exclusively on modern and contemporary Latin American and Latino art. Its contemporary building, designed by Mexican architect Manuel Rosen, holds four galleries, a project space, and the outdoor Robert Gumbiner Sculpture & Events Garden. The permanent collection spans painting, sculpture, and works on paper by artists from across Latin America.
