iMuseum of Youth Culture · Camden
Unseen and newly digitised youth culture photographs from the archive of Clare Muller, shown in the museum's Café Gallery.
Preview: written before the show opened
Clare Muller was born and raised in NW1, the same postcode as the museum, and went to school with future members of Madness and The Bodysnatchers. She had no musical ability, so she followed them around with a camera.
Miranda from The Bodysnatchers suggested she take a bag of gig shots to Stiff Records, and she came away with a job documenting a tour. Work for the NME, Smash Hits and The Face followed. The show is made up of unseen work from her archive, which the museum has only recently digitised.
It's in the Café Gallery from 6 to 22 November, and it's free.
