Founded in 1958 by Knud W. Jensen around a 19th-century villa in Humlebæk, Louisiana is Denmark's most visited art museum and one of Europe's leading venues for modern and contemporary art. Jørgen Bo and Vilhelm Wohlert's low, glass-walled wings wind through a sculpture park running down to the Øresund, with views across to Sweden. The collection spans Giacometti, Asger Jorn and Yayoi Kusama's mirror installation 'Gleaming Lights of the Souls', alongside a packed programme of major international exhibitions. Direct trains from central Copenhagen reach Humlebæk station in about 40 minutes.
