The Museum of Modern Egyptian Art, also known as the Gezira Center for Modern Art, traces the development of Egyptian modern art from the early 20th century to today. Part of the National Cultural Centre on Gezira Island, it shares grounds with the Cairo Opera House and the Palace of Arts. The museum houses over 10,000 paintings and sculptures, including key works by Mahmoud Said, Ragheb Ayad, Mohammed Naghi, Gazbia Sirry, Inji Aflatoun, Tahia Halim, Abdel Hadi Al-Gazzar, Adam Henein, George Bahgoury, and Mahmoud Mokhtar. The first floor features permanent galleries, while upper floors rotate exhibitions. The museum operates under the Fine Arts Sector of Egypt's Ministry of Culture.
