iHEK, the House of Electronic Arts, is a museum for contemporary art made with digital and electronic media, in a converted warehouse on Freilager-Platz in Münchenstein just south of Basel. Its 550 square metres of exhibition space host installations, new media works and an events programme of concerts, talks and workshops. It opened on the Dreispitz site in 2011 and reopened in its present building in 2014.
Installations of light, water and projection plus plotter drawings by Studio Lemercier on the limits technology sets and we cross.
Fourteen artists from the Basel, South Baden and Alsace region translate the trompe-l'oeil tradition into digital illusion.
