CosmoCaixa is the science museum of the "la Caixa" Foundation, set in a Modernista building at the foot of Tibidabo; founded in 1981, it was rebuilt and reopened under its current name in 2004. Its Universe Room, winner of the 2021 Kenneth Hudson Award at the European Museum of the Year Awards, runs from the Big Bang to the frontiers of knowledge. It takes in the Flooded Forest, a piece of Amazon rainforest home to more than a hundred species, and the Geological Wall of seven giant rock sections. Temporary exhibitions and a planetarium complete the visit.
