L'Albertina compte parmi les plus importants cabinets d'art graphique au monde. Fondée en 1776 par le duc Albert de Saxe-Teschen, elle conserve quelque 65 000 dessins et un million d'estampes de maîtres anciens, du Lièvre de Dürer aux œuvres de Léonard de Vinci. Son palais, perché sur l'ancien bastion des Augustins, abrite également 20 salles d'apparat des Habsbourg restaurées ainsi que la prestigieuse collection Batliner, dédiée à l'art moderne de Monet à Picasso. De grandes expositions temporaires de dessin, de peinture et de photographie s'y succèdent tout au long de l'année.
