Das Humboldt Forum befindet sich im rekonstruierten Berliner Schloss am Schlossplatz und wurde zwischen 2020 und 2022 etappenweise eröffnet. Im zweiten und dritten Obergeschoss präsentieren das Ethnologische Museum und das Museum für Asiatische Kunst rund 20.000 Exponate – vom Sanchi-Tor über die Turfan-Wandbilder bis hin zu einem japanischen Teehaus –, stets mit kritischem Blick auf Provenienz und Kolonialgeschichte. Im ersten Obergeschoss sind die Ausstellung BERLIN GLOBAL und das kostenfrei zugängliche Humboldt Lab untergebracht. Zudem zeichnen frei zugängliche Präsentationen im gesamten Gebäude 800 Jahre Ortsgeschichte nach – von den historischen Schlosskellern bis zum Palast der Republik.
