O National Air and Space Museum, da Smithsonian Institution, abriga a maior coleção de relíquias da aviação e da conquista espacial do mundo — desde o Wright Flyer de 1903 e o Spirit of St. Louis até o Bell X-1, a cápsula Friendship 7 de John Glenn e o módulo de comando Columbia, da Apollo 11.
