Projetado por Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt e concluído em 1723 como residência cerimonial de verão do Prince Eugene of Savoy, o Upper Belvedere debruça-se sobre os jardins barrocos em direção ao Lower Belvedere. Hoje, abriga a exposição do acervo do Belvedere, «Picture this!», que abrange desde Cranach até Maria Lassnig, tendo como destaques O Beijo de Gustav Klimt, obras de Egon Schiele e as Character Heads de Franz Xaver Messerschmidt. A Carlone Hall do palácio recebe instalações de arte contemporânea temporárias.
