O National Museum of Korea é o principal museu do país dedicado à história e à arte coreanas, e acompanha a cultura da península desde a pré-história até à época moderna. As suas seis galerias permanentes incluem tesouros como a coroa de ouro de Silla, as duas estátuas do Bodhisattva Pensativo e o pagode de dez andares da época de Goryeo, proveniente do templo de Gyeongcheonsa. Transferido em 2005 para o atual complexo de Yongsan, construído de raiz para o acolher, o museu apresenta também um programa rotativo de grandes exposições temporárias internacionais.
