O museu de modernismo clássico da Nationalgalerie, criado a partir da coleção do galerista Heinz Berggruen, reúne mais de 100 obras de Picasso, além de núcleos expressivos dedicados a Paul Klee, Henri Matisse e Alberto Giacometti, no edifício oeste de Stüler, em frente ao Schloss Charlottenburg. O museu está encerrado desde 5 de setembro de 2022 para uma ampla reforma do edifício Stüler, e ainda não foi anunciada uma data de reabertura. Durante esse período, o acervo percorre uma digressão internacional (com passagem recente pelo Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, até 13 de setembro de 2026); nenhuma obra está atualmente em exibição em Berlim. A vizinha Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg permanece aberta ao público.
