Inaugurado em 2006 nas margens do Spree, em frente à Berliner Dom, o DDR Museum retrata a vida quotidiana na República Democrática Alemã através de exposições interativas concebidas para serem tocadas. Os seus 1000 m² de espaço expositivo abordam a escola, o trabalho, as férias, o consumo, a ideologia, o Muro e a Stasi, destacando-se uma simulação de condução num Trabant P601 e um apartamento pré-fabricado WBS 70 totalmente mobilado. Todos os textos informativos estão disponíveis em alemão e inglês.
