O Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum ocupa uma reconstrução, concluída em 2009, do primeiro edifício de escritórios em estilo ocidental do Japão, originalmente projetado pelo arquiteto britânico Josiah Conder e concluído em 1894, antes de ser demolido em 1968. Reaberto em 2010 – e novamente em novembro de 2024, após um longo período de fechamento para manutenção –, o museu não possui galerias de coleção permanente; em vez disso, apresenta exposições temporárias de arte ocidental dos séculos XIX e início do XX, com obras de Toulouse-Lautrec e Odilon Redon de seu próprio acervo, além de importantes empréstimos internacionais. O histórico Café 1894, instalado no antigo salão bancário do edifício, é uma atração por si só.
