Otwarte w 2006 roku nad brzegiem Sprewy, naprzeciwko Berliner Dom, DDR Museum przybliża realia życia codziennego w Niemieckiej Republice Demokratycznej za pomocą interaktywnych, namacalnych eksponatów. Na powierzchni 1000 m² wystawa porusza tematy szkoły, pracy, wakacji, zakupów, ideologii, Muru Berlińskiego i działalności Stasi.
