Pierwsze publiczne muzeum w Berlinie, zaprojektowane przez Karla Friedricha Schinkla i otwarte w 1830 roku, wychodzi na Lustgarten fasadą z osiemnastoma jońskimi kolumnami oraz zwieńczoną kopułą rotundą inspirowaną rzymskim Panteonem. Mieści stałą ekspozycję Antikensammlung poświęconą sztuce starożytnej Grecji, Etrurii i Rzymu, której najważniejszymi punktami są Berlińska Bogini, Modlący się chłopiec oraz portrety Cezara i Kleopatry. W tzw. „błękitnym gabinecie” prezentowanych jest ponad 1300 antycznych monet ze zbiorów Münzkabinett, a na piętrze znajduje się jedna z największych kolekcji sztuki etruskiej poza granicami Włoch.
