The National Museum of Western Art (NMWA) est le musée national japonais consacré à l’art occidental. Il s’est constitué autour de la collection de l’industriel Kojiro Matsukata. Son Main Building, achevé en 1959, a été conçu par Le Corbusier avec les architectes japonais Kunio Maekawa et Junzo Sakakura. En 2016, il a été inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO dans le cadre de « The Architectural Work of Le Corbusier ». La collection couvre la peinture et la sculpture occidentales, du Moyen Âge au début du XXe siècle, avec notamment d’importantes œuvres impressionnistes et de Rodin présentées sur le parvis.
