Le Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum occupe la reconstruction, achevée en 2009, du premier immeuble de bureaux de style occidental du Japon. Conçu à l’origine par l’architecte britannique Josiah Conder et achevé en 1894, le bâtiment a été démoli en 1968. Rénové et rouvert en 2010, puis de nouveau en novembre 2024 après une longue fermeture pour travaux d’entretien, le musée ne présente pas de collections permanentes. Il organise à la place des expositions temporaires renouvelées consacrées à l’art occidental des XIXe et début du XXe siècles, en s’appuyant sur ses propres œuvres de Toulouse-Lautrec et d’Odilon Redon ainsi que sur d’importants prêts internationaux. Installé dans l’ancien hall bancaire, le Café 1894 constitue à lui seul une destination prisée.
