Inauguré en 1994 sur l’ancien site du quartier général de l’armée, à Yongsan, le War Memorial of Korea retrace l’histoire militaire de la Corée, des conflits préhistoriques à la guerre de Corée et aux périodes suivantes. Sept salles d’exposition présentent environ 10 000 objets parmi les 33 000 que compte la collection, dont le tableau d’honneur du hall commémoratif, des dioramas de guerre et des salles consacrées à la guerre de Corée ainsi qu’aux forces expéditionnaires coréennes déployées à l’étranger. En plein air, une zone consacrée au matériel militaire rassemble chars, avions et véhicules blindés sur le site, à côté d’un musée spécialement destiné aux enfants.
