Amorepacific Museum of Art (APMA) est né de la collection personnelle de Suh Sung-whan, fondateur d’Amorepacific, qui réunissait céramiques, objets artisanaux et textiles liés aux femmes, aux cosmétiques et à la culture coréenne du thé. Ouvert en 1979 sous le nom de Pacific Museum, puis rebaptisé en 2009, le musée s’est installé en 2018 dans une galerie souterraine, sous le siège d’Amorepacific à Yongsan : un cube blanc minimaliste conçu par David Chipperfield, lauréat du prix Pritzker. Aujourd’hui, le musée propose une programmation renouvelée qui couvre les antiquités coréennes et l’art contemporain international, ainsi que des rencontres, des publications et des résidences destinées aux jeunes artistes et chercheurs.
