Le Museo de América abrite l'une des plus exceptionnelles collections au monde consacrées aux peuples et aux cultures des Amériques, du Paléolithique à nos jours. Installé sur son site actuel de Moncloa en 1965, il explore l'archéologie préhispanique, l'art colonial et l'ethnographie indigène à travers des salles thématiques dédiées au savoir, à la société, à la religion et à la communication. Parmi ses chefs-d'œuvre figurent l'orfèvrerie inca, le trésor des Quimbayas, le Codex Tudela ainsi qu'une célèbre série de peintures de castes.
