Musée pédagogique du Massachusetts College of Art and Design, le MAAM a ouvert ses portes en février 2020 dans les galeries rénovées Bakalar et Paine, sur la façade du campus bordant Huntington Avenue. Fonctionnant selon le principe d'une kunsthalle, l'institution ne possède pas de collections : la Bakalar Gallery, la Stephen D. Paine Gallery et le hall d'accueil se renouvellent ainsi plusieurs fois par an au rythme de commandes inédites et d'expositions monographiques. L'accès est toujours libre et gratuit, sans billet ni réservation. L'entrée se situe juste en face de l'arrêt Longwood Medical Area (Green Line E), à seulement quelques minutes de marche du Museum of Fine Arts. Le musée fermant ses portes entre deux accrochages pour le montage des expositions, il est conseillé de vérifier le calendrier avant tout déplacement.
