El museo nacional de teatro de Austria tiene su sede en el Palais Lobkowitz, un palacio barroco de la década de 1690 cuya sala de recepciones, la Eroica Hall, acogió las primeras interpretaciones de la Tercera Sinfonía de Beethoven. Integrado en el consorcio de museos de la KHM, custodia más de dos millones de piezas: maquetas escenográficas, vestuario, dibujos, fotografías y marionetas, entre las que destaca el Figurenspiegel de Richard Teschner. La pintura Nuda Veritas (1899) de Gustav Klimt es otra de sus grandes joyas. El museo permanece cerrado por obras de renovación desde agosto de 2025.
