La Albertina alberga una de las colecciones de obra gráfica más importantes del mundo. Fundada en 1776 por el duque Albert of Saxe-Teschen, custodia unos 65 000 dibujos y un millón de grabados de antiguos maestros, desde la «Liebre joven» de Dürer hasta Leonardo. Su palacio, erigido sobre el antiguo bastión de los agustinos, acoge también 20 salones de aparato de los Habsburgo meticulosamente restaurados y la Batliner Collection, centrada en el arte moderno de Monet a Picasso. Además, presenta durante todo el año destacadas exposiciones temporales de dibujo, pintura y fotografía.
