Inaugurado en 2006 y diseñado por Jean Nouvel, el Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac está dedicado a las artes y culturas indígenas de África, Asia, Oceanía y las Américas. Su colección reúne más de un millón de objetos, de los cuales unos 3.500 se exhiben a la vez a lo largo de una sinuosa galería en penumbra junto al río, cerca de la Torre Eiffel. El edificio está envuelto en un jardín y un muro vegetal vivo obra del botánico Patrick Blanc, lo que convierte al museo en un hito de la arquitectura contemporánea por derecho propio.
