Fundado por el rey Luís en 1863 y ubicado en el complejo del Monasterio de los Jerónimos desde 1962, el Museu de Marinha narra la historia de Portugal y su relación con el mar a través de la navegación militar, mercante, pesquera y de recreo. De sus más de 18.000 piezas, unas 2.500 están expuestas: desde maquetas de barcos de la era de los Descubrimientos e instrumentos de navegación hasta los camarotes reales del yate Amélia. El amplio Galeotas Pavilion alberga barcas reales del siglo XVIII, embarcaciones tradicionales y el hidroavión Santa Cruz, que en 1922 completó el primer cruce aéreo del Atlántico Sur.
