El Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian (CAM) de la Fundación Gulbenkian, inaugurado en 1983, alberga una de las colecciones más importantes de arte moderno y contemporáneo portugués, desde Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso y Almada Negreiros hasta Paula Rego. Tras una renovación dirigida por Kengo Kuma and Associates, reabrió sus puertas en septiembre de 2024 con una larga cubierta de estilo engawa que conecta las galerías con el jardín ampliado. Las presentaciones rotatorias de la colección comparten el edificio con exposiciones temporales, una sala de dibujo, un espacio de proyectos y una reserva visitable.
