El primer museo público de Berlín, proyectado por Karl Friedrich Schinkel e inaugurado en 1830, se asoma al Lustgarten con dieciocho columnas jónicas y una rotonda cupulada inspirada en el Panteón de Roma. Acoge la exposición permanente de la Antikensammlung dedicada a griegos, etruscos y romanos, con obras tan destacadas como la Diosa de Berlín, el Joven orante y retratos de César y Cleopatra. Una segunda «cámara azul» exhibe más de 1300 monedas antiguas del Münzkabinett, mientras que la planta superior alberga una de las colecciones etruscas más importantes fuera de Italia.
