O SOMPO Museum of Art ocupa um impressionante edifício curvo, revestido de placas de aço, na base da torre da sede da Sompo Japan, em Nishi-Shinjuku. A sua coleção teve origem numa doação, em 1978, de obras do pintor japonês Seiji Togo e conta hoje com cerca de 640 peças, tendo como núcleo Girassóis (1888), de Vincent van Gogh, adquirido num leilão da Christie's em 1987 por um valor recorde. O museu também conserva obras de Gauguin, Cézanne, Renoir e Grandma Moses, além de apresentar uma programação rotativa de grandes exposições com obras cedidas temporariamente.
