Instalado numa antiga estufa de laranjeiras das Tuileries, construída em 1852, este museu íntimo foi reformado segundo as especificações do próprio Claude Monet para exibir o seu monumental ciclo dos Nymphéas sob luz natural vinda do teto. Duas salas ovais abrigam oito murais dos Nymphéas, que se estendem por cerca de 91 metros. No piso inferior, a coleção Jean Walter e Paul Guillaume reúne 148 pinturas impressionistas e modernas, de Renoir e Cézanne a Picasso, Matisse, Modigliani, Derain e Soutine.
