Fundada por Arne Glimcher em Boston, em 1960, a Pace tornou-se uma das principais galerias de arte contemporânea e moderna do mundo. Sua sede em Nova York, na 540 West 25th Street, inaugurada em 2019, é uma torre de oito andares construída especialmente, revestida em pedra vulcânica preta e opaca extraída do Monte Etna, na Sicília.
