Museu Frederic Marès

O escultor Frederic Marès (1893–1991) doou as suas coleções a Barcelona em 1946, e o museu abriu dois anos mais tarde numa parte do antigo Palácio Real dos Condes de Barcelona, junto à catedral, cujo pátio ajardinado ainda hoje subsiste. As galerias de escultura percorrem a escultura hispânica desde a Antiguidade até ao século XIX, com destaque para as figuras de madeira policromada e um relevo românico atribuído ao Mestre de Cabestany. O Gabinete do Colecionador, distribuído por 17 salas e a que Marès chamava o seu «Museu Sentimental», reúne leques, cachimbos, relógios, brinquedos, chaves e fotografias da vida quotidiana do século XIX; o seu estúdio-biblioteca apresenta ainda esculturas da sua autoria.
