Fundado pelo pintor Antoni Tàpies em 1984 e hoje conhecido como Museu Tàpies, reúne uma das mais completas coleções da sua obra, em grande parte doada por Antoni e Teresa Tàpies. Abriu ao público em 1990 na antiga editora Montaner y Simón (1880–82), um dos primeiros edifícios modernistas de Lluís Domènech i Montaner e o primeiro do Eixample a introduzir o tijolo e o ferro aparentes no centro da cidade. Tàpies coroou a fachada com a sua escultura de arame entrelaçado Núvol i cadira (Cloud and Chair). Além de apresentar exposições temporárias da obra de Tàpies, o museu organiza mostras de arte contemporânea e mantém uma biblioteca especializada em arte, instalada nas estantes originais da editora.
