Il National Archives Museum ha sede nel monumentale edificio neoclassico progettato nel 1935 da John Russell Pope su Constitution Avenue. Qui, nella Rotunda sormontata da una cupola, sono esposte le Charters of Freedom: le versioni originali della Dichiarazione d'indipendenza, della Costituzione e del Bill of Rights. Accanto a questi capisaldi storici si trovano un esemplare originale della Magna Carta del 1297 nella David M.
