Il Sigmund Freud Museum occupa l'appartamento di Berggasse 19 in cui Freud visse e lavorò dal 1891 fino alla fuga dall'Austria annessa al Reich nazista, nel 1938. Fondato nel 1971 alla presenza di Anna Freud, il museo è stato ristrutturato e ampliato nel 2020: oggi comprende tutte le stanze private della famiglia e gli studi professionali di Sigmund e Anna Freud, inclusa la storica sala d'attesa originale. La casa ospita inoltre un'importante biblioteca di ricerca psicoanalitica, una collezione di arte concettuale e mostre temporanee dedicate alla psicoanalisi e alla sua evoluzione storica.
