Inaugurato nel 2006 su progetto di Jean Nouvel, il Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac è dedicato alle arti e alle culture indigene di Africa, Asia, Oceania e Americhe. La sua collezione conta oltre un milione di oggetti, circa 3.500 dei quali esposti contemporaneamente lungo una galleria sinuosa e in penombra sulle rive della Senna, non lontano dalla Torre Eiffel. L'edificio è avvolto da un giardino e da un muro vegetale vivente ideato dal botanico Patrick Blanc, che ne fanno un punto di riferimento dell'architettura contemporanea a pieno titolo.
