Fondato nel 1870 e ospitato dal 1909 nell'edificio di Huntington Avenue progettato da Guy Lowell, il MFA custodisce oltre 450.000 opere che spaziano dall'antichità all'epoca contemporanea. La Art of the Americas Wing, inaugurata nel 2010, si sviluppa su quattro livelli dedicati a pittura, scultura e arti decorative, spaziando dall'oro precolombiano a Copley, Sargent e O'Keeffe. Accessibility

Fully wheelchair accessible. The Huntington Avenue main entrance has ramps on either side of the stairs and power-assist doors; the Linde Family Wing entrance on Museum Road offers a level entrance for visitors who need one. Wheelchairs and gallery stools available to borrow free. Service dogs welcome. The State Street Corporation Fenway Entrance is currently closed.
