Il MAAM è il museo didattico del Massachusetts College of Art and Design, inaugurato nel febbraio 2020 all'interno dei rinnovati spazi delle Bakalar and Paine galleries, proprio sulla facciata del campus in Huntington Avenue. Strutturato come una vera e propria kunsthalle, non possiede una collezione permanente: la Bakalar Gallery, la Stephen D. Paine Gallery e l'atrio si rinnovano più volte all'anno con nuove commissioni e mostre personali. L'ingresso è sempre gratuito, senza necessità di biglietto o prenotazione, e l'accesso si trova esattamente di fronte alla fermata Longwood Medical Area della Green Line E, a pochi minuti a piedi dal Museum of Fine Arts. Tra un allestimento e l'altro il museo rimane chiuso al pubblico, per cui è consigliabile verificare le date di apertura prima della visita.
