IA&A at Hillyer est l'antenne washingtonienne d'International Arts & Artists, installée dans d'anciennes écuries des années 1850 nichées au fond d'une impasse, juste derrière The Phillips Collection. Il s'agit d'un espace à but non lucratif : la programmation est issue d'un appel à projets annuel examiné par un comité d'artistes et de conservateurs locaux, permettant à une trentaine d'artistes d'y exposer chaque année. Trois expositions, personnelles ou collectives, se succèdent tous les mois et s'ouvrent ensemble lors du premier vendredi du mois, au rythme de rencontres avec les artistes, d'ateliers, de lectures de poésie et de concerts.
