Ouvert en 1995 dans le parc de Kiba, le Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT) compte parmi les plus grands établissements japonais consacrés à l’art d’après-guerre et à l’art contemporain, avec près de 33 000 m² de surface. Sa collection permanente MOT Collection, riche d’environ 5 700 œuvres, couvre l’art japonais et international depuis 1945, avec notamment un fonds important consacré au Pop Art. Elle est présentée au fil d’accrochages thématiques renouvelés, parallèlement à de grandes expositions réunissant des œuvres prêtées. Le musée accueille également le Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo Annual, une manifestation récurrente qui met en lumière de jeunes artistes dans les domaines des arts visuels, du spectacle et des pratiques expérimentales.
