Photography Seoul Museum of Art (Photo SeMA) a ouvert ses portes à Chang-dong, dans l’arrondissement de Dobong-gu, en mai 2025. Premier et unique musée d’art public de Corée consacré à la photographie, il a été conçu par l’architecte autrichien Mladen Jadric et le cabinet coréen 1990uao. Sa façade sinueuse de six étages évoque des images en pixels sensibles à la lumière. Le musée conserve plus de 20 000 œuvres photographiques et documents d’archives retraçant l’histoire de la photographie coréenne depuis les années 1920, ainsi que des salles d’exposition, une bibliothèque de photographie, des chambres noires et un café-librairie spécialisé dans les livres de photographie. L’entrée est gratuite.
