El National Museum of Asian Art del Smithsonian reúne dos edificios conectados en el National Mall: la Freer Gallery of Art, inaugurada en 1923 en un palacio de estilo renacentista italiano de granito rosa proyectado por Charles A. Platt, y la Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, abierta en 1987 y comunicada de forma subterránea.
