El Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum ocupa una reconstrucción de 2009 del primer edificio de oficinas de estilo occidental de Japón, diseñado originalmente por el arquitecto británico Josiah Conder y terminado en 1894, antes de ser demolido en 1968. Reabierto en 2010 –y de nuevo en noviembre de 2024, tras un largo cierre por obras de mantenimiento–, el museo no cuenta con galerías de colección permanente, sino que organiza exposiciones temporales rotativas de arte occidental de los siglos XIX y principios del XX. Para ello, reúne obras de Toulouse-Lautrec y Odilon Redon de sus propios fondos con importantes préstamos internacionales. El histórico Café 1894, instalado en la antigua sala bancaria del edificio, es un destino por derecho propio.
