Seodaemun Prison History Hall

Construida por el Japón imperial en 1908 con el nombre de Gyeongseong Gamok, esta prisión de ladrillo rojo albergó durante 80 años de dominio colonial, división y dictadura a activistas por la independencia de Corea, entre ellos la joven mártir Yu Gwan-sun. Cerró en 1987. Se conservan once edificios originales, entre ellos los pabellones de celdas, una cámara subterránea de tortura, torres de vigilancia y el edificio de ejecuciones, con su túnel oculto para retirar los cuerpos. Desde 1998, el recinto funciona como museo de historia y parque memorial dedicado a la lucha por la independencia de Corea y a su historia política moderna.
