El Musée Cognacq-Jay ocupa el Hôtel de Donon, una mansión del siglo XVI en pleno corazón del Marais. Sus íntimas salas revestidas de boiserie recrean un interior del siglo XVIII repleto del arte que los fundadores de los grandes almacenes, Ernest Cognacq y Marie-Louise Jaÿ, reunieron entre 1900 y 1925. Entre lo más destacado se encuentran pinturas de Boucher, Fragonard y Chardin, pasteles de Maurice-Quentin de La Tour, esculturas, porcelana de Sajonia, cajitas de rapé y mobiliario con sello de maestro ebanista. La entrada a la colección permanente es gratuita.
