El museo de modernismo clásico de la Nationalgalerie, fundado a partir de la colección del marchante Heinz Berggruen, reúne más de 100 obras de Picasso junto con destacados conjuntos de Paul Klee, Henri Matisse y Alberto Giacometti en el edificio occidental de Stüler, frente al Schloss Charlottenburg. El museo permanece cerrado desde el 5 de septiembre de 2022 debido a una renovación integral del edificio Stüler, y todavía no se ha anunciado una fecha de reapertura. Durante las obras, la colección realiza una itinerancia internacional (recientemente en el Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, hasta el 13 de septiembre de 2026), por lo que actualmente ninguna pieza se expone en Berlín.
